Movie Booking App - BigFlix

BigFlix is a chain of theaters spread across India and its USP is ticket and food combos at affordable rates. BigFlix is looking at designing a mobile app that will help customers book tickets and snacks at the same time and provide a seamless experience.

To provide a quick, simple, accessible, and hassle-free

ticket booking experience for moviegoers of all types.

Target Audience

 

Casual moviegoers between the ages of 15 to 75 in big cities and towns. The app is also targeted at people who are digitally illiterate and includes accessibility features.

User Research

We’d like to understand what we can do to improve moviegoers' experiences and make them fun and revisit the theaters more often. We want to make the experience seamless and quick, and would like to understand where users spend most of their time.

 

Type of Research : Moderated usability study

Location: Mall 45 Chennai, India, Mall 52 Hyderabad

Date: Sessions took place from July 7th to July 10th 2022 from 3 pm to 7 pm

Participants: 8 participants (4 female, 4 male)

Session Length: 25 minutes

Impact:

I got some very useful feedback from my peers which included following consistency in shapes, colors, and text format.

What I learned:

This project was a huge learning experience for me. I learned about navigation, accessible design, attention to detail, and understood the effort that goes into building an app.

Next Steps:

Test the design with more users, diverse groups.

Make the prototype more workable by including more detailed and accurate information.

Refine navigation and include detailed actions.
